Robert Toth to sign, number new art book

Local artist Robert R. Toth will sign and number copies of his new book, "Drawings of Historic Rowan County, N.C.," at Literary Bookpost on Friday from 6-9 p.m. during the Holiday Night Out in Downtown Salisbury.

The limited edition first printing of 300 will be signed and numbered during the event; although copies of the book may be pre-purchased and/or reserved, numbers will be assigned according to the order of books sold to those in attendance at the event itself.

The book consists of more than 150 drawings printed on parchment-type paper, and contains places of interest, historic homes of Salisbury, storefronts on the streets of Salisbury, the Salisbury Symphony, Meroney Theatre and Piedmont Players, monuments and historic places.

The book will remind many of James Brawley's long out-of-print sketchbook of the area.

Toth is a professional artist, sculptor and designer who has lived in Rowan County for more than 10 years. He has been featured in many art publications. His accomplishments include art and sculpture for Lincoln Center, the Smithsonian, and several Hollywood movies. He can often be seen sketching at local events or around the county.

Literary Bookpost is located at 119 S. Main St. in downtown Salisbury. For additional information call 704 630-9788.
